What does non-binding actually mean?
Most socks get their grip from a band of elastic sewn into the top. Ours do not have one. The stretch is knitted into the ribbing, so it holds its shape, relaxes back after wear, and does not dig in.
How wide does the top stretch?
Ten inches laid flat, which is twenty inches around the leg. Lay the top flat and stretch it: it opens to 10 inches across, then returns to shape rather than staying stretched out. To check before ordering, measure your calf at its widest point and compare it to the 20-inch figure.

What they are made of
71% bamboo, 20% nylon, 7% polyester, 2% spandex
Bamboo against the skin
Bamboo fibre spins soft and moves moisture off the skin instead of holding it, which is why it is the yarn that touches your foot. The rest of the blend does the structural work: nylon for wear at the heel and toe, a little spandex so the ribbing recovers its shape.
Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. No bleach, no fabric softener - softener coats the fibre and stops it wicking.
There is no rubber band in the top. The stretch is knitted into the rib itself, so the sock holds without gripping and does not leave a ring.

The top is knitted wide from the ribbing down. Laid flat and stretched it measures ten inches across — twenty inches around the leg — and it relaxes back to shape rather than staying stretched out.
The toe is linked flat, so there is no seam sitting across the top of the foot. Underfoot, a cushioned sole. The fibre is a bamboo viscose blend: hollow in structure, so it moves moisture rather than holding it.
