Comfort-Fresh vs. other socks
Compared with socks sold in general, not with any named brand. "Varies" means some do and some do not, so check the label.
- Non-binding top — no elastic band. Ten inches laid flat, twenty inches around the leg, and it relaxes back to shape.
- Flat-linked toe — no seam sitting across the top of the foot.
- Cushioned sole — padding under the heel and forefoot, where the pressure lands.
- Knitted wide — US 9-11, 10-13 and 13-15, wide from the ribbing down rather than a standard sock with a looser top.
What does non-binding actually mean?
Most socks get their grip from a band of elastic sewn into the top. Ours do not have one. The stretch is knitted into the ribbing, so it holds its shape, relaxes back after wear, and does not dig in.
How wide does the top stretch?
Ten inches laid flat, which is twenty inches around the leg. Lay the top flat and stretch it: it opens to 10 inches across, then returns to shape rather than staying stretched out. To check before ordering, measure your calf at its widest point and compare it to the 20-inch figure.
What sizes do you make?
US 9-11, 10-13 and 13-15 across this range. 13-15 is the largest size we knit.

What they are made of
77% Rayon from Bamboo, 15% Polyester, 6% Nylon, 2% Spandex.
Bamboo against the skin
Bamboo fibre spins soft and moves moisture off the skin instead of holding it, which is why it is the yarn that touches your foot. The rest of the blend does the structural work: nylon for wear at the heel and toe, a little spandex so the ribbing recovers its shape.
Fibre regenerated from bamboo pulp is correctly called rayon, or viscose. That is what the care label says and that is what we say.
Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. No bleach, no fabric softener - softener coats the fibre and stops it wicking.
The same non-binding crew, in nine muted colours. For anyone who would rather not wear black every day.
How it is made
The top carries no elastic band — the stretch is knitted into the rib, opening to ten inches laid flat, twenty inches around the leg, and recovering its shape afterwards.
The toe is linked flat, so there is no ridge across the foot. Cushioned sole. Bamboo viscose blend, which moves moisture rather than holding it.
Colours
Acid Green, Aqua, Elderberry, Icy Morn, Leaf Green, Pale Iris, Rose Red, Sand and Light Pink.
